Well, for one thing, I thought we were all gonna get a little revenge on that bloody entity. [ ... ] Certainly wasn't expecting it to end up like that.
Do what you want with her, but she will just die and reappear and nothing will stick. And the only one with the actual power to avenge us will do nothing but fume in anger as though he caught her reading his diary.
[ he hesitates a little before answering, because it's not really his place and he has no intention of talking about his personal business behind his back. but also it was sort of obvious from the way he was reacting to things today. ]
...Taair.
[ he sort of could have been describing himself at one point, but. not now, anyway. ]
[it's complicated, and she understands a little about taair's situation, but she doesn't exactly know what to think about the problem. is it better for god to give him a choice he doesn't want to have or to take his agency from him just because he thinks it better?
she frowns to herself.]
I think... god has nothing to do with that, really. He could choose not to return, but he won't, because he feels he has a duty, right?
[taair could decide something different for himself, though. he just hasn't.]
If you genuinely feel that he would be better off if he didn't have the choice, you have the power to make that happen equally to god. You could just kidnap him. [well, this is not a serious suggestion, she knows enough about taair's situation to know that this would be a cruel thing to do to him.] Or more realistically, you could just insist. Tell him you've made the choice, and it's for him to come with you.
[it's very hard to do that, though. to insist someone come with you not knowing if you're really enough for them to feel more obligation toward than the things they're leaving behind.]
...Look, it's not like I'm going around insisting Richie come with me instead of going back to fight that awful thing. So I can't really lecture you or anything, but it's a thought.
