I don't think you think so, either. No one does. But he still assumes everyone does unless relentlessly convinced otherwise. I'm from a world where magic is rather unremarkable, and since he sees me as a fellow mage, he still seeks to convince me that I must expect to be persecuted.

I won't tell anyone anything you wish to hide. I do understand your worries. I spent the first week or so here feeling I ought not to mention I was a Sharran, even though no one here knows what that is.
But if you were to shed the assumption that others will hate you for your nature, I don't think you would be ill-served by it.

I certainly hope so. My partner's life is riding on my survival through all of this, and I would like to return both of us home safe and sound.
