In pictures, movies, documentaries, that stuff - never in person. The closest we had in the Tower was the community pool.

I grew up in a port city, but the docks there aren't like this. Fishermen and merchant ships.

I think Seattle's port was more like that, too. They talked about some fish market in history class... but I don't know if it's still out there.

This place sounds a lot nicer.

I've never been. And I don't think it was destroyed... but it's probably not the same as how the instructors described it. They make it sound like things outside of the Tower are a war zone, sometimes.

It's against the rules, if we don't get permission from Madam first. They keep security really tight to make sure the Tower stays safe.

...I've left a couple of times, but it wasn't for the port. I'm not really sure how to get there even if I wanted to.

I doubt I left to explore the city much myself, either, if we're being honest.

It's because they don't want any spawncampers getting in and harvesting demiflora. [ a pause as he realizes, once again, that other people don't know that word. ] Sorry - a demiflora is someone with special abilities. But they're tied to our bodies, so if spawncampers get the right body parts, they can use our powers, too. The Tower's designed so we don't have to worry about that.

There's a lot more that I don't remember than just that, admittedly. But it isn't a problem.

...Maybe. Ideally, we'll find a way that doesn't involve all of our deaths.

Wait, you don't know? So even if you get this whole "redemption" thing and get to go back, you might have to die all over again? But that isn't fair.
