I find the notion of how much could change very frightening. Not only the way events could have unfolded differently, but how much I could change.
It's hard to explain. I spent so long having doubts about so many things. I - I haven't always found it easy to follow what Lady Shar demands of me. But now I can remember what it would have felt like if I'd obeyed, and I hate knowing that a little bit.
Honestly? Something like that does sound really scary.
[ granted his problems are fairly small in comparison to a goddess punishing you, but change is always scary. it's only natural it'd be worse when it's yourself. ]
Was it... a good thing? If you obeyed? I mean... there must be a good reason it's been hard for you to do before, right?
